Piazza del Campidoglio

Veduta di Piazza del Campidoglio

On the ground floor of the Palazzo Nuovo there are some plastic models representing the complex of Piazza del Campidoglio, in particular Michelangelo's square, the statue of Marcus Aurelius and the Cordonata, and all the buildings that overlook it: Palazzo Senatorio, Palazzo dei Conservatori and Palazzo Nuovo; one model in particular represents the detail of the elevation of Palazzo dei Conservatori.
A scale model of the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius is also available. These supports allow visitors not only to get to know these important architectural features, but also to orientate themselves in the places they are visiting.
