Musei Capitolini: the technology at the service of the museum communication

More detailed informations about the main sculptures exposed in the museum's halls can be viewed in all the smartphones provided with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

All you need to do is to put the scanner on a tag, placed next to the description of the work or on the base of the same, to see the detailed informations on the screen, complete with references to web pages explaining special themes or specialist terms. The texts can be consulted in Italian and English.

This information system is particularly useful in historic halls, where traditional printed information is more limited due to the objective difficulties of placing panels and totems.

The project was started in 2011 thanks to a partnership between Samsung Electronics Italia, the Sovrintendenza di Roma Capitale and Zètema Progetto Cultura.
